The Kodak EasyShare DX7440 features an extensive low-light auto-focus system that combines rapid phase detection with highly accurate (TTL) contrast detection to sharply define a subject, even in almost complete darkness. Selectable focus zones and exposure metering allow users advanced control over each scene.Compared to the Kodak EasyShare DX6440, the Kodak EasyShare DX7440 has a much larger LCD screen (2.2") which will make menu navigation much easier than its counterpart. The megapixel count is still 4.0 and the optical zoom is the same at 4x, but the digital zoom has gone up from 3.8x to 4x. The DX7440 also offers 16 scene modes, 5 colour modes plus movie mode (all listed below) so this camera offers lots of creative possibilities.
